  • Favorite Thing: When visiting Bermuda you absolutely must: Take a lot of patience and time with you, head toward Front Street, and hit the Cock & Feather Restaurant. (Locals used to call it the 'Prick and Tickle', and yes, I was one of them). Great Martoonies.

Fondest Memory: Clearwater Beach (Site of the old US Military Base). Far enough away from St. David's to not instantly be reduced to bubbling rubber, and close enough to Harrington Sound to not be pithy.

  • Favorite Thing: This is my house (or at least a view from it). I've enjoyed, and continue to enjoy being here (albeit, I have to wait for my work permit to come back). The people are friendly as all get-out, (the weather kinda sucks), but by and by, it's been a fantastic experience.

  • Favorite Thing: Albeit, I was fine riding the bike early on, I lost interest later. The views however, remained grand.

  • Favorite Thing: This map shows the East End. Not a whole lot up here. The airport is in the upper right, St. Georges and St. Davids are to the right (so's Clearwater Beach - best kept secret in Bermuda). I live in the little bay area called Bailey's Bay on North Shore (that's the little blip towards the lower left).

    General Tips: The West End

  • Favorite Thing: This is the West End. There's a huge difference between Hamilton (The City) and Hamilton (The Parish). I lived in Hamilton (Parish) and worked in Hamilton (City). Be it known, there are no street addresses. If you need to get to 24 Town Hill Road, and take a taxi, you'll be dropped off at Town Hill and get to walk the rest. The majority of Resorts are on this end, and the most popular beaches are here too. Way, way too touristy for me.

    Fondest Memory: Beaches, et al.

Horseshoe Bay - Most photographed beach in BDA. The sand is like pink powder.
Warwick Long Beach - little bit more gritty than the sand at Horseshoe, but very nice.
Shelly Bay - *very* local hang-out.
Clearwater Beach - no, I won't tell you where it is. But, it's one of the top 5 (IMHO).
John Smith's Bay - wow. What can I say. True sandy Bermudiana.
I'll think of others to add...

Interesting reading about Bermuda. When the Tall Ships came into Brisbane, Australia, 1000's of people, including me, went to see them, what a sight!
