Four Days with Two Kids in the Windy City.
Chicago is a great American City. The challenge was hitting the high points because there was much to see and more I wanted to see. I missed taking a boat ride on lake Michigan and an architectural tour on the Chicago river. The Cubs were on the road, but we had a great visit.
I started my trip by researching what other Virtual Tourists said and visiting Chigago's official web page. I learned which days the museums were free and took a calculated risk this would be the best day for my young boys since they would likely get tired and want to leave early. This strategy saved money but the huge summer crowds and groups visiting the museums were a bit of a distraction. If my boys were older, and therefore they wanted to stay all day in each museum, I would have been better off paying full admission--assuming the crowds would have been smaller.
The Navy pier and Disney Quest were both big hits with my children.
