A Warm Caribbean Sea

Milos like Santorini has a volcanic origin and in many places you can dive in a warm fantastic blue water!!! And if you look carefully you can see the hot springs under the water with their thousands little bubble: they say it is the light volcanic activity. You can find beaches with white sand, volcanic sand (watch out!!! It is very hot and there are signs warning not too walk barefoot!!) or tiny smooth pebbles.... And it is always a peasure to swim looking at all those kind of fishes!!!!
And what about the breathtaking colours of the rocks????

A lot of history

Here in the 19th century a poor man found out the Venus of Milos buried in the ground he was plowing. But in Milos as in all cycladic islands there are a lot of archeological site to visit: and from everyone of them you can see a beautiful view on the Aegean Sea. You don't have to walk so much to reach them. And it is really worth it!
Nearby there are ancient cathacombs but were closed at the time we stayed in Milos... Ok, next time!!!

Not only tourism

Milos is very rich in different kinds of minerals: perlitis, gypsum, sulphur which are at the origin of the multicolored rocks al around the island. For example the dream-beach of Tsigrado is fully made of Perlitis!!! Mine activity is so important in the economics of the island that most of its population works there. They even dedicated a whole museum to their main source of money: The Mine Museum in Adamas.
