| Books, books, books...Harvard's Widener Library |
Cambridge has more bookstores per capita than any other town in the country. I feed my love for books and addiction to travel by spending a lot of time at one of those bookstores, a travel bookstore called the Globe Corner Bookstore in Harvard Square. If you like VT, you will love this store! Cambridge is also home to America's oldest and best known university, Harvard University, as well as a number of other fine institutions, such as the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). The people in Cambridge are amazing, but they're not all students - Cambridge has many families and has a working-class side as well. Harvard Square has become very trendy and commercial (as well as touristy!), so try to visit one of Cambridge's other squares, such as Inman or Central, as well to get a better feeling for what Cambridge is really about. |

gilabrand Mon Nov 6, 2006 17:29 UTC I will make a mental note of that: Yellow Cab is a no-no...LOL | Fred44 Thu Jun 2, 2005 22:10 UTC I live in Cambridge and can tell you that the local cabs are generally miserable, Expensive too. Going to the airport I prefer the subway to waiting and wondering if a cab is going to be able to find my house and bother showing up on time. |
