Let me start by sharing a little bit about Slapshot and how the name came into being. It was in the eighth grade that I decided that it might be fun to try my hand at the game of soccer. I was, well let's put it this way: NOT very athletic. Being a clumsy kind of guy did not help this situation much. I played the game with sheer aggression as if I were out for blood. I really did want to play well but did not have the concept of how play. I played as if it were a hockey game and was a very dangerous player to be around. It usually only took a few minutes and I was fouled out of the game for playing so rough. After breaking an opponents leg during a game, my teammates gave me the name Slapshot. They claimed it looked like I was taking a Slapshot on the poor guys leg so the name stuck like glue. Word spread among opposing teams and even they yelled, "Watch out for Slapshot!!!" After being reunited with some old friends from Highschool, the first words from thier mouths were, "Slapshot!!!"
GLENDORA, CALIFORNIA
I live in Glendora, California....a small foothill community about 23 miles East of Los Angeles. Glendora is a small quaint town with very friendly people. We are know as: "The Pride of The Foothills." Downtown Glendora withs its historical charm, is home to many fine boutiques and specialty shops. We have a population of approximately 51,000 residents. Life is good here in Glendora.
I have not traveled very much in my life and am ready to catch the train to the next destination. Most of the travel that I did experience was at a very young age taking a road trip with my family from California to the Midwest and then to the Pacific Nortwest. This is why I do not have photos of all my travels. I am currently trying to pry the photos form my parents to scan and add to my pages. Getting Dad and Mom to release them to me is like trying to take a prime rib from a lion...
Putting that aside, I am very anxious to get on the fast track to experiencing the world and its people, even If I have to ride the caboose!!!
This year I decided that I would get out, do more and live my life to the fullest. Ok, so maybe I went to the extreme when I decided to go on a sky diving adventure. This was not on my Bucket List but just something I have wanted to do for many years. I wish I would experienced this years ago. It is very addictive and I am ready to go do it again. This had to be the most fun that I have had in years and I would challenge anyone to make sure and try it at least once in thier lifetime. Here is a video for you to have a virtual experience on me.

Laguna Beach, California is my favorite beach to relax at. Yes, there is still some beautiful places to see in California and this is one that you should enjoy if you make it out this way.
Laguna is a quaint town that has many art and clothing shops to enjoy. Come spend your money and help the California economy!!!!
My wife and daughters actually cleaned me up to attend a wedding. Greg, Lilly, Jenny and Summer
This is my dog Spartacus or Sparty for short. He is 16 years old and still has some play left in him. He actually makes some funny facial expressions which I really need to capture in a photo. Some how he always knows when the camera is out and makes sure not to smile.
I work as a sheetmetal worker for The Los Angeles Unified School Disctrict. I also have my own sheetmetal bussiness and specialize in custom copper work. I can say that I honestly love what I do for a living but will not turn down retirement at all!!
My life has not been the easiest around and at times I can become very overwhelmed and loose heart. I always think of my Grandfather who was a great man and taught me to put our faith in God . Here is a saying he made his motto and passed down to the family:
Keep Your Grit
Hang on ! Cling on ! No matter what they say,
Push on! Sing on! Things will come your way.
Sitting down and whining never help a bit;
Best way to get there is by keeping up your grit.
Don't give up hoping when the ship goes down;
Grab a spar or something, just refuse to drown,
Don't think you're dying just because you're hit;
Smile in face of danger and hang on to your Grit.

Hi Greg! It was lovely to meet you and Lilly in Paris. I hope you enjoy the rest of your trip. Best Wishes, Sue
I have just posted two additional VT meetings in Paris you might be interested to join. One is the firework on the 10th September 2011, at 20.00, the other is a dancing by the river Seine on the 11th September 2011, at 17.30.
Both events are FREE (you can expect that from parisforless). If you need some drinks and food (picnic style) visit some of the local shops before the meeting.
For more information see VT Paris meetings.
Looking forward to meet you there.

Hi Greg, I'm looking forward to meeting you and your wife in Paris next month!
My boys loved to bring home the movies of skateboarding and make me watch them. They said it was more fun watching me watching the movie. Every time someone fell I was jumping LOL.
Happy (late) birthday. I hope you got all sorts of goodies yesterday!!!
