On our last visit to Koh Chang we took a motorbikeride to the 'other' side of the island, where it is more quiet and where you can find some more secluded resorts. Most of them looked upscale, but we found one budget resort, it was just build recently and it is owned by a very young couple. The man's name is Joe, he and his wife do everything themselves, including the cooking.
I took lots of pictures of the place, so if you would like more information with pictures send me a mail, and I will forward them to you.
Unique Qualities: The beach is almost like a private beach with a view on some of the other islands around. The place has hammocks and a swing tied on the coconuttrees to relax in, and to watch the sunset. The price is budget, only 150 baht per bungalow, and less in low season.

Phone: 07-9794572 (Joe)
Directions: You can take the ferry (from Trat, LaemNgob) to Koh Wai and get off on the most southern tip of Koh Chang (Tantawan), it is walking distance from Long Beach then. You can also take the Koh Chang ferry and call Joe to come and pick you up.
