Bangkok is the place I visited most often on my six months travel through Asia. It is a perfect starting point to other countries. The traffic is everywhere: Busses; cars; taxis; tuk-tuks; the sound of blaring horns; whining motorcycles that never stop for pedestrians; and the policemen trying to make their whistles heard above the noise. This is not the city you go to for some quiet moments, wanting to relax here will only give you more stress. If you have to wait for your visa to the next country here, go and see what Bangkok has to offer. |

Thanks for taking the time to share with us. The tips on dress codes and Thai culture are especially good. | pmarshuk Fri Apr 30, 2004 09:36 UTC Great page on one of my favourite cities. I was there for part of Songkran last year and it was total madness - got soaked and covered in talcum powder just like you. | obiwanwasabe Sun Apr 11, 2004 08:19 UTC It's a long time since I visited Bangkok, I found the best way into town from the airport was by train and then tuktuk, nice accurate pages they bring back some memories for me...
