Nias Island was desolated, travelers where absent. Everything was cheap, even the most beautiful cottages, because there was no business. It was sad, because it is beautiful. I really hope the Indonesian economy will grow again, so that people are not so dependant on these few tourist that stop by now. It must be worse now, I was there in 2001, but things haven't got much better yet.
