Charming town with shopping

Hasselt is a charming small town in the Limburg region of Belgium. I found the Jenever museum and the churches most interesting (during cold weather). The photo above is in the town square -- lovely sculpture with a very old pharmacy behind it.

Hasselt has these little markers in the sidewalks (as many towns do) to help guide you past the tourist attractions. Here the "H" for Hasselt is in a Hazelnut since it is possible the origin of the town name came from this nut.
