Bad Pyrmont Travel Guide: 39 reviews and 143 photos
Bad Pyrmont, located in Lower Saxony, is a most lovely town of about 23,000 citizens, and gained its reputation as a fashionable place for princely vacations in the 17th and 18th centuries. The spa of Staatsbad Pyrmont is the fifth loveliest among Europe's famous parks, and provids a marvelous atmosphere particulary during Pyrmont's annual happening of so called Landpartie. It's a botanical & floral fair that features more than 140 exhibitors and their many of ideas for recreation & lifestyle & cosy home. Also farm boots, coffee bars, bakeries, and other lovely, little groceries provide fantastic goodies of any sort. It's relaxing to linger, marvel, and glance at all the nice things provided. And possibly buy'em. In between are many live shows presented at for example Konzertmuschel. Those add a of lot of fun to the happening of Landpartie. The sweet & modest looking gals of the Celtic Spirit group did an awesome dance show. Then funny, the Dancing Dogs which are real dogs that are trained to dance. Actually, it did seem they had much fun to dance to songs like "Love and Marriage" etc. etc.
The add of the German/Austrian term Bad (=Bath) to a town's name like the add of Bad to the town of Pyrmont, is only then given when the presence of Heilbaeder (=medical spas/thermal baths/fountains) is confirmed. The title Bad (=Bath) ensures that the certain town provides certain medical conditions which are government awarded.
- Pros:Lovely, calm and clean town, very nice locals, many elderlies, marvelous-green landscape.
- Cons:Can't think of any.
- In a nutshell:A town, very beautiful in its slow pace.

The restaurants always look so yummy here Sunshine and the gardens is spectacular! Excellent page!
Nice tips on Bad Pyrmont. I've never been there, but I see from the map that it's not far from Hameln, where I used to go sometimes because we had dealings with a software company there. (I'm sure they've gone bankrupt by now.)
Pyrmonts Kurpoark looks so colorful, and the castle inviting for me. I like those things to see/do. NIce discussion of the town.
well, i can't stand asparagus, but the kurpark is as pretty as any i have seen and there is no such thing as a bad castle. nice page, great writeup and park pictures. n.
Yes, there are some nice pedestrian only paths in Cusco, one to Machu Picchu. :) I'm off to Wyoming & Utah later this week--back to cool weather I guess. Lots of walking on trails there, and avoiding bears and bison. Auf Wiedersehen
Sounds like a great place. Travel back through time and walk through fragrant gardens...ahhh. Hope you had a fantastic birthday.
Thank you for educating me on the term Bad (Bath). I've noticed a number of other cities with this designation also.
great page thanx
Great page, looks really interesting
Great tip about the asparagus, which I love. Have you ever tried doing it in the oven with a little olive oil and a little balsamic vinegar. Absolutely lovely! fergy.
