KL - is a fantastic city!
We arrived to KL by Air Asia airlines, the budget airline of Malaysia. It's really cheap and safe airline!
Airport transfer were provided for us by Air Asia and after some 20 minutes we were sitting in nice and comfortable Sky bus shuttle. The bus tickets we booked along our airline tickets so we found it a bit cheaper to book along your e-ticket via Internet than you buy it direct from the counter! It cost us about 10 US$ p/p 2 way bus ticket.
Be aware, there is traffic jam in pick hours in KL streets, so on your return way prepare some 2 hrs in extra avoiding to be late for your flight!
Sky bus shuttle starts from KL central every 30 min towards airport. It has break hrs from 12 AM to 3 AM!
The taxi ride is rather expensive here, to get to the airport will cost you about 90 MYR or 25 US$.
KL is clean and safe city with friendly people.
The city center and famous landmarks are located next to each other and if you just want to walk then do it!
Visit Petronas Towers, the tallest twin towers in the world until 2003! Visiting there you need to pay nothing even if you get to Sky Bridge on the 41st floor but you only need to get up a bit early and be at Petronas by 9.30 AM and stay in the queue for about 20 minutes for free tickets to Sky Bridge!
In the other side of Petronas you can find musical fountains which start in the evening on certain days and Aquaria starts from 11 AM.
Walk down to the South to Masjid Jamek, walk time is about 30 min or take metro to Station Masjid Jamek for 6 MYR. Look to great architecture! Near by you can find National Square.
Walk more to the South passing Chinatown and stopping there to have a lunch of frog legs for 5 MYR per 100 grms in some Chinese restaurants and go ahead to the South West till KL Central Station. There you can find the National Mosque, Islamic Museum, Birds Park, Butterfly Park, Orchid and Hibiscus Park, Deer Park. All are located together with walking distance 5 minutes between each other!
Batu Caves! Bus number 11 starts every 30 min from Masjid Jamek and costs 2.5 MYR.
Fireflies in Kuala Selangor. I think you better to take a travel guide with a car because of show starts at night and you can miss the last return bus to KL, it's about 8 PM. Then you need to stay a night there!
Taman Negara Park with its rainforest and Cameroon Highlands should be visited but we couldn't.
Melacca city in the South of peninsula take 3 hrs bus ride and famous for its colonial architecture. If you are there then visit Singapore for a day trip! It's so close!
Try fresh baked pastry on the ground floor, just next to supermarket inside Petronas Towers! more travel advice
Aquaria is located just inside Petronas Towers. Good variety of fishes and well made huge tanks! It's worth to... more travel advice
