Bugibba and Qawra are two small towns located in the St. Paul's bay conurbation. As with much of the area around the bay, the towns are relatively new, built up in the 1970’s as a tourist resort and as such the area is home to many hotels, shops, bars and restaurants. Many locations on the Island can be reached by bus from Bugibba bus terminal. Bugibba is larger and Qawra may as well be a suburb, as the liveliest night spots are in Bugibba. Qawra does as one night club however, Fuegos, located on the sea front. There are restaurants offering all kinds of cuisine from local Maltese and Italian to Chinese and Indian, and even a few English Fish and Chip shops. While there are only a couple of tiny sandy beaches, many people sunbathe and swim off the rocks, which are quite safe. There are also many Lidos in both towns. Qawra is also home to one of the thirteen small watch towers built by the Knights of St John around the Maltese islands.
- Pros:many shops, bars and restaurants, and good transport links
- Cons:not much history
- In a nutshell:a nice little place for the evening but not much to do during the day
