Georgie Porgies: A quiet little tea room

Georgie Porgies is a quiet little tea room on George Street. It is on the first floor and as far as i could tell there was no disabled access. We went here for lunch one day and I had the 'Totally Itallian' Panini, which was tomato, salami and mozzarella cheese. It was served with a nice side salad. You also get to choose your salad dressing from a selection, and it is brought in a small bowl for you to add yourself. It was all very nice, despite the panini being a little dry, but I would still come back here for another.
The service was friendly and the decor attractive.

Favorite Dish: I had the 'Totally Italian' Panini which tasted fantastic but was a little dry. The salad was very nice.

Great Food and Atmosphere - Oldham
The Three Crowns: Great Food and Atmosphere

The Three Crowns is a public house in the centre of Oldham. Its close proximity to the bus station make it popular with shoppers wanting a refreshing drink before they go home. It serves high quality beers, lagers, ales and ciders as well as food. At night they sometimes have live acts ranging from stand up comedians to bands. The prices are reasonable, the staff are friendly and the service is excellent, so why not stop by before, during or after your shopping spree!

The pub has recently been through a change of hands, and since then the selection of food has gone down, however it is still very nice. The last time I was in I had Pasta Carbonara. The pasta was Fusilli, which is unusual for Carbonara, but it was nice all the same. It was served with peas and a very generous helping of chips, again unusual for a pasta dish but it was very nice (it seems most things on the menu were served with peas and chips). The food is also cheeper than it used to be, although not quite of the same quality.

Favorite Dish: I had the Fusilli Carbonara, which was delicious and full of flavour, although with an odd accompaniment of peas and chips.

The best Indian in town! - Oldham
Blue Ocean: The best Indian in town!

The Blue Ocean is a relatively new Indian Restaurant in Oldham, which opened on the 19th June 2007. Since the day of its opening it has been one of the favourite restaurants in Oldham and since then I have been many times. Not only is it a fine restaurant, it has a small bar where you can sit before they set your table, when a waiter will carry your drinks through for you, and there is a nightclub downstairs with resident DJ and dance floor. The staff are always extremely friendly and always like to have a quick chat with you while you wait for your food.

The portions here are quite large, and one portion of rice will easily do two people, but if you do need more they will quickly bring you some.

Favorite Dish: The Chicken Korma here is mild but full of flavour, excellent with Pilau Rice and a Garlic Naan Bread, after some of the best Poppadoms i have ever had.

Extremely Friendly Indian!! - Oldham
The Cafe Lahore: Extremely Friendly Indian!!

The Café Lahore is an Indian Restaurant which claims to be “the home of Punjab cuisine”. That may be a bit of an exaggeration but nevertheless the food here is amazing. The staff here are extremely friendly, especially if it’s your birthday!
If you want to come for a meal over the weekend, I recommend you book in advance however as it the restaurant is only small and it can get very busy.

Part of the kitchen is actually in the main seating room, so you can see them preparing some of the food. There is no other Indian quite like this in the town, this place certainly is a great experience!

Favorite Dish: It would be impossible to pick my favourite main course from here, but you have got to try the funcky pie for desert!
