We started our trip in a water taxi heading for Bangar. The man in the captains seat was in a hurry! He drove through the mangroves as if he was a stuntman for James Bond. We had life-wests, but after spotting the sunbathing crocodiles, I doubted they would be of much help
About halfway we crossed the Malaysian corridor. Have a copy of your passport ready.
Obviously JB knew his job - we arrived safely after 50 minutes. In hindsight, I remember the ride as fun.
In Bangar we got in to a van. During the 30 minutes long trip to Batang Duri, we passed a couple of traditional longhouses.
In Batang Duri we embarked the longboat and headed upstreams on Temburong river. The young woman steering the boat had impressing knowledge of the river. She navigated safely around all obstacles.
This was my favourite part of the trip. The hours in the boat could have been twice as long!
After some refreshment at the Ulu Ulu Resort, we started climbing the trek to the canopy walk. The path was muddy and steep. At the top 1300 ladder-steps waited. It was surprising easy, and not scary at all. And the view from the top was incredible!
