"Amersham and the Chiltern Hills" Amersham by jonathanbarker

Amersham Travel Guide: 4 reviews and 4 photos

Amersham town centre

Amersham is a town in Buckinghamshire which has the old town architecture, which includes medeaval, Tudor, Georgian, Victorian, Art Deco and modern buildings. The old town is a delight to walk around and there is the Chiltern railway link to Central London. There is also an Underground line to Central London as well.

Chiltern Hills, Surrounding villages and towns

Each year in October several vintage buses visit the area and provide rides to the surrounding towns (including Chesham) and villages including the villages of Great and Little Missenden. Almost opposite each other are two pubs which have the most popular names, The Crown and the Red Lion! Although I didn't visit any pubs or restaurants there all looked typically English.

Chiltern Hills, Dales and country lanes

This area is particularly hilly as Amersham in in the Chilterns, an area of outstanding natural beauty. This made our bus travels particularly interesting as the views were stunning.
