Ada Ciganlija
Ada Ciganlija is a small peninsula located just 4 km from the center of Belgrade. Ada Ciganlija is often referred to as Belgrade's Sea, because it attracts hundreds of thousands of visitors each summer. The central part of Ada is the manmade Savsko Jezero (Lake). The lake is used for swimming, rowing, kayaking, waterpolo, surfing and so on. For those who don't feel like swimming there are lots of shops, bakeries and restaurants to keep them busy.

Tennis in a historical setting
Kalemegdan park offers many things including sports activities. During the summer one can join a game of basketball on one of the courts located right next to the fortress, or perhaps a game of tennis will do. In winter time the basketball court is turned into an outdoor ice rink. I highly recommend a skating session. Skating there feels magical especially at night when you can see the stars and lights around the fortess.
Directions: Get to Kalemegdan and look up the map in the park or ask for directions.

The Finish Line
Each April runners from some 35 countries land on the streets of Belgrade for the Belgrade International Marathon. This is the largest annual sporting event held in the country so naturally it generates a lot of buzz. One can run a full marathon, a half marathon or for kids there is a special 5 km running course to be tackled. Since April is one of the most beautiful months in the city, runners typically enjoy spectacular weather and great views of spring's arrival into the White City.
Equipment: Good pair of running shoes, bottle of water and lots of stamina.

Marakana
Marakana is the stadium of the well known Red Star soccer team. It can accomodate 56,000 people, thereby making it the largest sports venue in Serbia. Red Star started playing all its home games at this stadium in 1945. The stadium also tends to be the venue of choice for home games of the Serbian & Montenegran national soccer team.
