a day in the life

Can anyone read this board?

the Board
got to the Ukraine (Kiev Airport) and looked up at the boards. Didn't understand a bit of it. Asked three people what it said, they were all from New York. No help there. I asked someone in an airport uniform and they simply stared at me. it seems they don't speak English (at least he didn't). Got outside after a ridiculous wait at the one and only x-ray machine at customs. tried to hail a cab, but there's that language thing again. finally got a ride to the hotel in Kiev, and settled in. Went down for dinner and turns out that the "kitchen is closed, so sorry". Asked for a restaurant nearby, got "the look". Motioned eating. Got a smirk and told "sorry, the kitchen's closed". Sigh. finally decided to just walk around and see what I could find. A nice little man from Kyrsbekistan (?) finally took pity on me and was my free translator for the night. Got fed and back to the hotel for a night's sleep.
snow from the plane

snow, snow, snow

Didn't know why I thought the Ukraine would be warm or sunny. it was snowing the whole time I was there. (yes, I know, I'm a dipstick).
This scene is what I saw both coming and going.

Tried to take a snapshot but too much snow, so i got a postal card to prove I was actually here.

Poor Susan. you're not a "dipstick" you know. After coming from Texas and going to the mideast, I wouldn't be prepared for snow either! Suze

That's some special qualities at that hotel. Mine - with reservations (lots of them) - was not much better.

Thanks Susan ! Besides traveling, day dreaming, disco dancing & B.S.ing seems to be my daily activity :) I know Ukraine is cold, no gas ;0) I am going Budapest & prague in 2 weeks !
