"OPENCAST COAL MINING IN THE BILINA VALLEY" Bilina by AsturArcadia

Bilina Travel Guide: 0 reviews and 5 photos

South of the Krusné Hory (Erzgebirge in Germany) lies the broad valley of the Bilina, with various large industrial towns, such as Chomutov, Most and Teplice on its northern slopes. Coal mining is still an important activity here, with immense opencast pits, and an extensive industrial rail network, 1,435 mm gauge, on which operate some very strange-looking electric locomotives.
