Kenton - on - Sea

Kenton-on-Sea

Near the rivermouth Bushman's River.
Kenton-on-Sea is one of the most beautifully situated beach resorts in South Africa. The village centre lies between the mouths of two rivers. The Kariega river and Bushman's River.
Both rivers have sandy beds and carry crystal clear water into the Indian Ocean.
There is good and safe swimming in the rivers. Kenton is a paradise for fishermen. It also attracts a great variety of seabirds.
Kenton has a mild climate throughout the year. The summers are warm and in winter the day temperatures hardly ever sink below 20 C degrees.
Rock pools

Rock pools

Particularly stunning is the northern beach with its rock pools, where you can watch at low tide many little fishes, crabs and even octopusses.
A nice treat is getting oysters from the river mouth.....
Beautiful homes on the river.

The homes on the banks.

Luxury homes are built on this Coast. These homes are closed up during the low season.

Beautiful - like the rock pools and think I'll hire a boat!

Never heard of this place but it looks quite nice in your photos. Sounds like an "English" name.

What a tranquil looking scene --I'd love to plant my umbrella in the sand there sometime!
