Although Mauritius is a small island, the scenery is contrasting ranging from the drier regions of the north west coast, to the lush green of the east coast. Volcanic mountains cuts through the central area dictating the change in prevailing weather conditions.
There is so much to see and enjoy.
We went on a tour, sailing out to sea, for a quick snorkel and a bit of fun and music on the catermaran. Very popular with tourists. You must book in advance.
The Sugar Beach creates an evening of customary dance for the tourists to enjoy.

November 2010, a 21 yo man died, and two were critically injured while traveling to Gabriel Island on a catamaran. Make sure weather conditions, boat and crew are safe.

Still a too expensive destination for me at the moment but nice to see your page - the catamaran day trip sure sounds a lovely way to spend a day there. - and the 3rd trip back to Barcelona - still somewhere in the waiting list!
Looks like a beautiful location..the "loo", on the other hand, sounds just horrid. Your Hotel tips are quite enlightening. I had not heard of Mauritius before. Glad to learn about it.
