Bangkok to Shop

Arriving in Bangkok after a realxing holiday in Phuket....Bangkok, HOT, humid, busy bustling.
We had a great travel company, always on time and friendly and efficient.
We were taken to our Hotel of which I have written a tip...DONT GO THERE...the worst hotel I have EVER stayed at.
I could not wait to get shopping after dropping our things in our room. Goods are cheap.
Shop keepers will beg you to buy from them and they love it when you barter with them.
My husband who hates shopping, spent hours going around the shops with me. We did however part in one of the shopping centers for a good 4 hours so that I could shop at my leisure (NO RUSHING ME)..then meet up for lunch, and get on with the shopping again.

Bangkok

It is worth putting up with the coronary-inducing traffic jams and sticky weather to experience one of Asia's most exciting cities.
The landscape of Bangkok is an awesome mix of centuries-old Buddhist wats, emerald green canals, floating markets, tall cool, metal glass skyscrapers, teak houses on stilts and luxury cars trapped in traffic.
About 400 wats are scatterted throughout the city and the most famous include the Wat Phra Keo, or the temple of the Emerald Buddha located within the royal palace grounds, the Wat Pho, or the temple of Reclining Buddha and the Wat Traimit, or the temple of The Golden Buddha (5 tons of solid gold). The Wat Arun with its golden spire rising some 200 feet in the sky and the marble Wat Benchamabophit are splendid examples of Buddhist architecture.
Taking a ride along the Chao Phraya River to the older sections of the city, you'll get a hint of what it might have been like when Bangkok was accessible only by canals.

Yes, you either love or hate Bangkok. We were a group of 6 and I was the only one who loved it! Stayed at Novotel and walked to MBK Centre every day we were there! Great shopping! I will be back to BK as Ive only just scratched the surface there.

Bangkok is a fascinating place (and a great place for shoppers) but also very tiring . After having spent three days there I was happy to leave.

Too bad about your hotel, we splurged in Bangkok and stayed along the River at the Shangri-la, one of the two nicest hotels I've ever stayed in!!!
