This is all there was. The base was Castle and it was located out side Atwater, CA. It was warm and comfortable every day with heavy dew every morning, never rained while I was there, and the humidity was mild to below average for what I am use to on the East Coast. I loved here, but it had to come to an end. I had a family waiting for me back home.
If you get the chance to visit this area, do so. I went off base one day and walked into Atwater. It was a beautiful walk, long, but worth it. I would have liked to seen more of Atwater and the valley it was in, but just did not have the money to do anything. It all went home to support the family since I was living for free while on the Military plan. |
