Slovenia has so much to offer

"We have seen caves" we thought, but we were on tour so we go with the group. But never like this we were soon to discover. Unbelievable was the extent and beauty.

Postojna is actually home to one of the largest caves in Europe. You ride part of the way on a minature electric train and then continue on foot for an extensive walk to view the wonderful sights of thei subterranean world..

Just to help you remember : "Tites come down and nites go up "

Postojna or Skocjan

We did not visit Skocjan but many VTers say Skocjan caves are less commercialized and very beautiful.

There is a little train at the Postojna Caves and this is one reason we were told why these caves cannot be heritage listed.

The caves were very crowded and we joined a large group for English spaking folk. It was difficult to hear.

It was a long walk and we were advised of this. There was an option to 'short cut' back to the train.

yeah, I used to be able to remember which 'ites' were coming up or down....difficult now.
