All aboard "Sea Odyssey"

Well she is a beautiful ship and this cruise is of the luxury variety. One is waited on hand and foot...but this might spoil one for the ordinary life back home.

The use of the pronoun "one" shows I have gone "upmarket"

Our cruise included the 'Turkish Delights', the Greek Islands, then Montenegro, Croatia, and Venice.

This was an "all inclusive" cruise. Of course this did not cover tours, expensive alcohol, gambling or shopping. But it did include a really special evening at Ephesus and tips.to the crew ...even though we still rewarded a special few.

There was entertainment every night and AussieBarney has a "Sail (sheepaway) Away" write up. We spoke to the cruise director John a number of times and went to dance lessons with Cosmin and Vindora from Rumania.

Some facts:

Seabourn Odyssey...Captain our cruise Bjarne Larsen.

We started off in Istanbul and visited not only the islands of Greece but also Turkish Delights, Croatia, and Montenegro before disembarkation in Venice Italy.

YOU WILL FIND PHOTOS AND STORIES UNDER THE INDIVIDUAL PORTS OF CALL...or as a special treat follow my links to each of our ports of call ................................Come sail with us from Istanbul....

The Seabourn crowd considered we were on two cruises as many disembark in Athens but for us there was no division.

Our suite

Complete with a balcony, a bath, and complementary indulgences we were cared for by Edit who prepared little surprises for us nearly every night. Our suite was 654 ...in the centre of the ship and near the main stairs brilliant position...the only long corridor walk was to go to the Observation Deck lift.
This could be thanks to our travel agent Sally Andrews...VT member Mustanghk, the manager Escape Travel, Kawana, Sunshine Coast, Queensland, Australia who is in fact a cruise specialist as well as her many other talents.

We also enjoyed Restaurant 2 . This was for special fine dining where a tasting menu was served and fine wine. You needed to book early as places were limited. Shows one needs to read the fine print.

Otherwise it was The Restaurant where formal nights were hosted or at least smart casual nights or the more relaxed eating on Deck 8 in the Colonnade. Other than for Restaurant 2 one did not need to book a dinner sitting....just arrive when one was ready in the alloted times for dining in the restaurant.
When at our breakfast spot Elodie (French) and Claudia (German) were our favourites.

We heard on the grapevine about the limited numbers tour of the bridge and we scored an invite. By now we were 'second cruise' people. We enjoyed our time with Captain Bjarne Larsen ,
