The first I ever heard of Monto was in my Rockhampton dayswhen I worked as a nurse at the Mater Hospital. One of my friends went to work in Monto and one bitterly cold winter's day I called in to visit her at Monto Hospital

Monto in near the Cania Gorge and Dam So you might be on your way there.

Monto is out from Gladstone in Central Queensland. Usual way to travel in on the Burnett Highyway but there is a more direct road ...been part of that way...from Gladstone

In recent times we stayed in the caravan park just a little out of town...looking for info

We rented one of the self contained huts...very pleasant. We have also stayed in the Three Moons Motel...OK as well.
