|  | A Country Gal's City Home I moved to Des Moines technically in April, 2000, but didn't get much chance to really look around until the fall. On Labor Day, I took a drive around to try and get myself better acquainted with Des Moines, and I snapped a couple pics.
This is a picture of the capital building with its gold dome. I hear there are only a couple of true gold domes in the US, and someone told me the other is in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.
Scattered throughout the rest of the page are pics of the pigs of Des Moines. Well, at least the ones I found. I heard the majority were on display at the State Fair in August, but I didn't get to go. I hope you find them as amusing as I do!
