Berlin was memorable for me because of two things: the Wall, and the constant wail of the police sirens. Both of my ears had closed and I was jet lagged beyond belief, so the only thing I could fully appreciate the first day was the sound of the police sirens (it was the only thing I could hear). Luckily, we didn't see the Wall until after my head had cleared, so I was able to fully enjoy it. The best part of the whole trip was seeing East Berlin and the changes that were happening since the Wall came down.
