Montreal Background

Montréal, one of the greatest city in the world!!

Both to live in and to visit. One of the first cities colonized in America (founded in 1642), it was founded by the French and used as a trading post. It stayed an important port and relay point as Canada was explored.

The French culture can be found everywhere in this city, the most European city in all of North America. Although French is spoken by 80% of the population, visitors can get by just fine in English.

Montréal is very cosmopolite. French and English are spoken by a big portion of the population, we have a Chinatown; Greek, Italian, Indian, Spanish, Haitian, Jamaican, south American, Japanese, Korean, Vietnamese, etc... are found also in Montreal.

When I am not traveling, Montréal is a great place to be. Scan the yellow pages (phone book) in the restaurant section, you will find both an alphabetical and a category section. So, travel by proxy by dining in numerous international restaurants.

Bon séjour à Montréal.

Pierre

Pros:"French ambiance in a North America setting"
