I haven't been to Lausanne but heard it was beautiful. One region I am well familiar with is the Sion valley, or the region called Le Valais. This valley is beautiful and wavy, with numerous villages along the way on both slopes of the valley. It's deadend is Arolla, a quaint little village where life revolves around hiking and ski activities during the day, and eating and drinking at night. What a life!
