As mentioned in my France homepage, I chose Limoges as my Périgord anchor city. The Périgord region is located South of Limoges and is located North of Toulouse. That is why most of my Périgord tips can be found on my Limoges page.
It is a magnificent region, renowned for the famous Foie Gras and Confit, but also have rivers, some of the most picturesque villages in France, mineralogical wonders and archeological and historical sites.
Toulouse is very nice, you can spend a couple of days to visit the city. You can also circle the countryside including the Périgord region, but also the Cathares remnant (this ancient crazy and persecuted religious group) around and East of Toulouse.
There is only about 300 km between Limoges and Toulouse, go figure why it took us a week to get there. |
