"Ocean, Beer, Food" kellinwood's Profile
Some of my favorite activities in and around the ocean are sailing, yacht racing, body surfing, stand-up paddle boarding, whale watching, and simply sitting and staring at the sea.
I recently moved to Kailua, Hawaii - a laid back beach town. As a result, my relationship with the ocean has expanded in new directions.
This should tell you something about my preferences for dining. I'm more comfortable in a local dive than a high-end place with fancy cuisine. I actively seek out the best in casual establishments. Some of the most memberable meals I've had were in true dives.
In 1987 I got bitten by the home brewing bug. For the eight years that followed I brewed a batch every couple of months learning all I could about the craft. Road trips with my buddies inevitably included stopping at local microbreweries to sample the suds. Several trips were made to San Fransisco solely for the purpose of visiting the Anchor Brewery. You can get a taste for my passion by reading this.

Thanks for your answer to 'A few questions'.
Ken, a belated Happy Birthday. Have a great year. :-)
Thanks, Larry. I hope you have a great one too!
With all the great new changes at VT, who could have a bad year!
Happy Birthday!
Thanks, I did have fun.
I went to the DMV and renewed my drivers iicense (not so much fun).
Then we went here: "Valley of the Temples" - Kaneohe Things to Do Tip by kellinwood
Saw the movie "Snitch" - it was better than I expected.
And I went surfing :)
Happy you had a nice time :) I'll check the link out
Aloha Ken, I still can't believe you got such a great photo of dolphins. That one photo is worth a lifetime of photos. Priceless! Will I see you at the Barney Awards Live Ceremony at VT HQ on Halloween? I wonder if "G" will wear his circus barker blue tux as a costume. Well, I should have him in a great mood by now. He and I just love to mix it up, fellow Pisano, you see. Is there such a thing as a Hawaiian Pisano, I could be both. lol Suck em up! Larry
Oh, and someone else took a photo of those dolphins. I was busy sailing the boat you see on the right side of that picture :)
You should blow it up to a 46 x 36 photo picture with frame. Still Priceless with your boat in it. :-)
Ken,
Aloha,
Seeing that photo of Keneke's and now I have to go to L&L in my area to get a Plate Lunch, no spam. lol I saw you went to Haleiwa Joe's at Haiku Gardens. It is one of the best restaurants on Oahu. One of my daughters had her wedding in the Gardens. Their North Shore namesake location is a fun location and still great food. Have you checked out Willow's in Honolulu, near Waikiki, off King St., Makai on Hausten for the 7 days a week Hawaiian Buffet. Not a dive, but 'ono.
Aloha! Jo, hard to beat The Willows, only about a couple of miles from the tourist zone of Waikiki. they have a daily buffett, that in my opinion is better than going to the rip off Luau's. I list their website. Click on the buffet, listed at the top right of the page, to see all the great food dishes and the price, which is reasonable for the Waikiki area. Banquet rooms as well, can be reserved. See: willowshawaii.com/index.php/...
I booked my flight already. So I will definitely be seeing you guys in Hawaii! Will check the willoshawaii...So, true, those luaus are expensive!
Beautiful shot of the dolphins!
That is a great shot of dolphins on your homepage. Its incredible seeing them out there jumping through the wakes of boats.
And the sailboat on the right is my dads!
Thank u for addin me...Hapi Travellin :D
