Wonderful weather in Troy. You get to fully experience all four seasons. With temperatures reaching 115F+ in the summertime and sub zero for weeks on end in the wintertime. You can get anywhere from 1 to 6 feet of snow!
This all makes for some the the most lush and beautifully green springtimes you could ever ask for.
THis is what makes the place so great. No matter what time of year it is, there's always something fun to do outside.
The summer is great for fishing and swimming in the countless lakes and rivers surrounding the area.
The fall is perfect for some good hunting of the local wildlife and big game, to include witetail deer, elk, and bear.
winter yields some exciting sledding, snowmobiling, and if you're like me, swimming.
Spring is great for hiking to numerous mountains which encompass the town. Although Troy is located in the middle of the Rocky Mountans, it actually has the lowest evevation in the State. So as you can image, it's a deep valley with tall, green, forested mountains on all sides.
Bar Street is usually the most popular place for drinking and getting together at night. But if you really want to get to know this place, ask around to see if there are any parties going on. These are where you'll really get to know the town. (and don't worry, the people in Troy really like foriegners.) These parties usually take place out in the middle of the woods on a mountain somewhere. They consist of a BIG bonfire, alot of beer, and music. You'll find that the locals are all generally laid back and easy going. And more than happy to tell you where all the best places are for whatever outdoor adventures you're looking for.
- Pros:great for outdoors
- Cons:small population
- In a nutshell:secluded; and that's what makes it great
