"LET'S HOPE CERVAR PORAT GETS RENOVATED VERY SOON!" Cervar-Porat by truth2tell

I first started visiting Cervar Porat 25 years ago, when it was part of the former Yugoslvia. Then it was a beautiful clean tourist village, but now it needs help. The once thriving Aparthotel which had live music and entertainment, now sits in vandalised abandonment and accomodates only pigeons. Many of the street lighting has been vandalised, making a torch essential when out walking. The atmosphere has changed without the hotel as the main centre, without the large number of foreign tourists. This has affected the local restaurants, shops, bus services, doctors, chemist, etc., and made it a shadow of it's former self. The beach has great opportunity to replace the horses grazing nearby with another hotel, landscape the beach area and make the warm, clear blue seas a tourist playground again, cleaning up the broken glass that can now be found there. Twenty five years ago as the marina was newly built, it was hailed as being the new Cowes of europe, to be home of new yachting races. We can only hope that the Porec local government will renovate it back to it's former glory as soon as possible. They have done a marvellous job in Porec - so let's hope Cervar Porat is next!!!
