Jumpingson and a BURRO in Oatman, Arizona

We were driving from Laughlin, Nevada where we stayed for the weekend and on our way to Lake Havasu when I saw the sign saying, "To Oatman, Arizona".

I have read of this little town the night before through the hotel travelbook and it did say the place has these donkey-like burros all over this old mining town ---- the kids are going to love that!

And so I did turn left and drove about 13 miles on roads that seem to lead to nowhere but the rocky mountains in the distance....and before we knew it, we saw a very active main street wuith burros on the road - OATMAN!

So, we parked and explored this wonderful little town for about two hours! Hope you get to see this wonderful place too someday....

Jumpingtwins in Oatman, Arizona

This gold mining town was born in 1906 as a tent camp for miners, and is located in the Black Mountains about 18 miles east of Bullhead City (just take Hwy 95, 13 miles south of Bullhead City and turn east on Boundary Cone Road)

In 1915, there were two minurs who struck gold worth $10 million, and that year the twon population greaw over 3500.

What a fun outing for you and the twins. I bet they were thrilled with all the animals. By the way, the twins sure are growing.

FANTASTIC page Norman! Love little out of the way places, especially off of Route 66. Looks like the Burro stole the show....lol!
