May 5, 2009 - I arrived through the airport at Anchorage about 3 days ago, but still - I have not explored it!
My sister who picked me up drove me four hours away immediately after my arrival to HOMER and we have been going around Southern Alaska --- but when this next day starts, I am hoping I will be able to explore this town and eat some reindeer hotdog!
I made a video of my trip to Alaska with my JumpingSis!
Hope you like this:
JUMPING NORMAN IN ALASKA WITH JUMPINGSISTER!
We were speeding away from Anchorage just after I arrived and I noticed little fountains everywhere by the roadside mountains - it was spring and the snow was melting! The weather was also purrfect! And I snapped a picture of this girl in front of one of those fountains...good shot, huh?
May 6, 2009 - we saw this young moose by the road near the city of Anchorage, and so I crept towards it and jumped! The moose didn't even give me a glance...I guess you can say I am adventurous and crazy at the same time (sounds like my investments on the stockmarket, hehehe...)
May 2009 is ALASKA ADVENTURE TIME for myself and my wonderful sister, VTer jumpingwithnorman! She treated me to a wonderful 90-minute helicopter ride and I jumped on a glacier – it was AWESOME!!!!
Watch our new CHOPPER LANDING ON A GLACIER VIDEO!
We explored a lot in Southern Alaska, seeing places like Seward where the Iditerod Dog Sled Race starts, Soldotna, Kenai, Homer Spit, Girdwood, Cooper Landing, Portage Glacier, Sterling and so much more...it'll take time for me to document these trips on VT!
We did drive over 1000 miles, increasing the mileage on a very very NEW FORD FOCUS from Hertz (thanks, Hertz!)...

I do hope I get to Alaska one day - nice to see your nice little page thanks - tho I envy a bit how youve been able to make so many tips/uploading pics so quickly when days like today just looking at tips is SOOO slow!
Lovely page Norman, it was fantastic that you jumped at the chance to cruise the skies of Alaska!
Great Anchorage page with lovely photographs! Kanai Fjords certainly looks amazing. Alaska Zoo and Heritage Museum indeed sound wonderful to explore. ~ho & pang
Norman, lovely little Anchorage page with brilliant photos. Alaska is still on my must visit list. The Earthquake Park sounds interesting
The zoo looks great! Woow, seafood, this a shop for me as I am a seafood lover! The helicopter ride looks a very special experience!
Love seafood, only thing, these days I seem to be allergic to most of them, shame really! But thanks for making me drool dude, lol!
Looks like you and sis had fun. That is one expensive helicopter ride. But, hey, you got good value for the hotel. And that is one HUGE moose head mounted on the fireplace.
Nicely done Anchorage tips Norman! So, is your rich sister married? I have a 25 year old son that needs a wife! :) Just kidding.
Witnessed the 1st crime of my life here, can u imagine that? In the middle of winter too! Of all places!
Norman, it sounds and looks as though you and your sister had a really grand time in Anchorage. The helicopter ride was awesome [and so expensive]. Excellent photographs and outstanding descriptions.
