Located in the Carpathian Mountains, near Sinaia, in Prahova County, the Peles Castle offers visitors of a grandiose past in this region.
This castle has one of the most amazing woodwork I've ever seen - I was just in awe of the staircase!
It was built between 1873 and 1883, under the orders of King Carol I of Romania. His statue is in front of the castle, and inside you can imagine him in his study room and walking around the amazing wooden staircases. There is also a painting of one of his daughters who unfortunately died at a young age.
