I guess this is at almost the exact same spot at Luneta Park, more than 35 years apart! My gorgeous Mom, myself, my oldest sister and my dashing Dad. I am sooooo old, but I still look good...hehehe
A vendor approached me selling these small guitars, telling me the initial price for which I automatically asked for a lower price. Then I thought, "What was I haggling for?" It was not even that expensive! Shame on me! So I just gave him more than what he asked for...he probably has kids to raise. I try to be gallant to my fellow Filipinos when I "go home", and so the Philippines ends up with my most expensive vacations compared to other countries. I don't regret it because I like to help in their struggling economy. Unfortunately, corruption has been enmeshed in the political culture of this beautiful country. Most of the people have very low standards of living. So, when in this tropical paradise, I don't hesitate to extend a helping hand and I just decide whether someone is just abusing my generosity. But you can never help enough...
This is my great school, the University of the Philippines (UP), where I started college at the young age of 16! I finished a degree in Chemistry here (learned nuclear chemistry for which I never found any practical use), and then I continued on to become a well-liked physician later in life.
I decided to bring my six month old son here, 16 years after my graduation...Time flies too fast. Hold on too son, you're in for a ride!

Wow Wow Norman AWESOME stuff I have been bugging LoriPori and ask her if I could fly from Krakow to Manila for your VT meeting But I think she has something plugging her ears She does not seem to hear me I;ll keep trying though someday
It must be very nostalgic to return to Manila, Norman. Looks an interesting place. I used to tell our daughter she had an 'Imelda' shoe collection. :))
