SUZUYA is a traditional japanese restaurant. They serve dishes that are special to this area. Hida beef ( beef with fat like vains through it) is used in many dishes.
Favorite Dish: Suki Yaki We also tried the shabu-shabu, but didnīt like that as much.

Suzuya: Drink your beer in a beaker

Restaurant Name: Suzuya
In restaurant Suzuya (see previous tip) they sell this local beer. It served in a beaker instead of a glass. It is expensive (700 Yen = ca. 7 $), but it tastes great! Korikori beer is brewed in Hida Takayama by the Ji Beer Hida company.

Our second visit to this restaurant we tried shabu shabu. It is a big pot of boiling water. You put vegetables and meat in this boiling water at your table. Just stir a little, take it out and eat it. It looks great on the table, but we didnīt found the taste that interesting.....
