A family of ringtailed maki - Madagascar

In september 2006 we visited Madagascar, an island as large as France, Belgium and the Netherlands together. An island with animals you will find nowhere else in the world. An island with a different plantlife. But above all an island where you will find a smiling face every day. The Malagassy people are kind and open, just wish i spoke Malagassy or French.

We made a tour in Madagascar with a dutch travelgroup (Sawadee), during this tour we spend just over two weeks in the south and a week in the north.

Allain and Nora Liva

In the middle of this trip we had a afternoon to discover the capitol Antananarivo (Tana for short). And what better to do than spend this afternoon with some VT friends. We met Allain (RaHeNi) and Nora Liva (Norali) and a great time. We did a short city tour and had a great Malagassy dinner afterwards. The rum with ginger will not easily be forgotten.

Transportion here is somewhat different

We spend a lot of time in National Parks where we had the help of a guide to find the endemic birds and other animals. All tips about these parks will be on the Madagascar main page. In the occasions where we found a lot of animals we will put pictures in the travelogues on these pages and linkt to them.

Cute intro picture. I like the idea of a trio w/ one a bit blurry. Next time, we'll enjoy meeting up somewhere where the waiter will be pleased to see clients and where food is served warm. ;-) I'm working on it. :-) How are you guys over there ?
