In the Atlantic Ocean directly in front of the coast of Morocco, Africa you find a group of islands. The seven larger islands (Gran Canaria, Fuerteventura, Lanzarote, Tenerife, La Palma, Gomera, Hierro) and a few smaller have an area of 7.500 sq km and 930.015 people live there.Due to its location the islands have always been important. First because they were on tradingroutes.
In 1496 the islands the Spanish conquered the islands, and the ships of Christopher Columbus stopped here on their travel to discover the New World. Today they are an important touristdestination, due to the perfect climate. The temperatures are perfect (around 25°C) all year round. The landscape of each island is absolutely different to the others.
