In Munich City Centre you will find many museums and lots of churches worth visiting. But you should also have a look a bit further away.
For instance visit the Nymphenburg Palace with Park and Pavilions. It is very nice to stroll in the park and enjoy the different features the garden has to offer.
Also visit the old southern cemetery, a haven of piece and quiet just outside the city centre.
Walk along the river or in the english garden to enjoy some nature.

Tom and his Hofbrau.

Whenever you are thirsty in Munich, a beer is never far away. Munich has six breweries and they all want to sell their products. So on almost every corner you can sit and drink the golden liquid.
All the beergardens serve one brand. In this case we drank a Hofbrau in the Hofbrau Keller, not to be confused with the Hofbrau Hause.

In case you wonder what to eat along with your beer, you can never go wrong with sausages. and Brezels. In Munich they serve different sausages on different hours of the day. In the morning it is a custom to order white sausages (Weisswurst). They usually serve these veil sausages up to noon and sometimes 2 pm. The white sausage is served in a large bowl of hot water. They are eaten with dark, sweet mustard. Most of the time they will be accompanied by Brezels. A Brezel is bread covered with salt crystals in a nice form.

In the afternoon you can choose another sausage or have Leberkase, a slice of a bread baked from pork and other meat. Also to be eaten with mustard, but not the sweet kind.

In the evening there is still a choice of sausages, but you can also go for a Schweinshaxen (pork knuckles) with Sauerkraut (pickled cabbage).

In all cases the food is plenty.
