"Blokland, just a street......" Blokland by tompt

Blokland is not placed in the right directory here on VT. It is not located in the Porvince Utrecht, but in Zuid-Holland. It is on the border of the three provinces: To the right you will find Utrecht and to the north Noord-Holland.
Blokland is not really a community either, it is only one street which you can divide in two streets. One part is the Provincial road N231, some route planning devices don't even know it is called Blokland and simply call it N231.
The other part is a smaller street coming from the village Nieuwveen and is a 60 km/h limit street.

Although from this intro it seems like a boring place much can be told about it, and if you are not into history or monumental farms you can always enjoy the wide open spaces around.

Along Blokland you will find some historic farm buildings, most of them bearing Russian names. And in front of one farm there are monumental trees like this beech tree.

The blue signs from the walking route

If you want to see the entire street, follow the signs from the Lindehorst en Kazan Route. It is a walking route starting in Nieuwveen and taking you along Blokland to the river Kromme Mijdrecht and through fields back to the farm "Kazan" in Blokland. It will take you approximately 3 hours. Wear some solid shoes for the part through the fields.
