Although Volos is a city with 120.000 inhabitants fish is still sold from the fisherboats in the harbour. Volos is not widely known as a holiday deatination. The Greek people however go to Volos and the neighbouring peninsula Pelion for years. In 1998 the airport of Volos is openened to commercial aircrafts. The dutch where the first to organise holidays to this area. And they where right, it is a great area.
