The story starts on thursday when the travelagency calls. Flights to Italy tomorrow are cancelled! We had tickets to Florence, Italy... We decided we wanted to go away for the weekend anyway. The travelagency made a lot of calls but then we were booked on a flight to Edinburgh, the next day. No preparation, but very eager to see this city. And we were not disappointed! Although the temperature was much lower than in Italy, we had great sunny weather. And did discover a lot in and about Edinburgh.

Holyroodhouse

See what the Royals like in Edinburgh

Visit The Palace of Holyroodhouse, a barok palace which is the official residence of the Queen in Scotland.
The palace is probably most famous for being the house of Mary, queen of Scots.

Or go ´sailing´ on the royal yacht Britania. Since it was decommissioned it is at the Ocean Terminal in Leith.

Or just walk through the narrow street of the town and enjoy the views.
