Barcelona , Gaudi and more

Sagrada Familia

Barcelona is one of the most exiting cities in Europe. We visited Barcelona several times and we are sure we will go back. There is much to see and do, and all in a friendly atmosphere.

2002 was the Gaudi year, being 150 years after his birth. Many things were planned for this year like extra openings of buildings that are normally closed to the public.

But you can always visit the unfinished Sagrada Familia, a cathedral Gaudi was working on to the time of his death. Today work is in progress to finish the work. Or visit another Gaudi masterpiece, the Parc Guell. The entrance to this park is free !

Musical fountain, Barcelona

But it is always a joy to visit Barcelona. Not only the architecture of Gaudi, but also the other sights are worth visiting.
Go up the Mont Juich, see the old fort and enjoy the view over the city, walk down along the olympic stadium and the Palau Nacional.
Stay untill dark to see colorful things like the musical fountain before walking on to Placa de Espanya.
Gonnie loves the Ramblas, wonder why....

And when you are not in the mood to visit the sights, you can also sit and relax on the Ramblas. The street always busy with people, tourists sitting on the terraces, locals walking the Ramblas up and down and the many streetperfomers.
