We were warned before we left for Rome, again and again. There is a serious problem with pick pockets.

But we didn´t have any problems, just the usually big city things. Watch your purse. Always keep some money out of your purse in your pocket, so you have only a little amount in your hand when you are paying someone.

And we noticed the large quantity of police on the streets. This must help to keep this problems away.

To summarize: we didn´t feel threathened or unsafe one moment in Rome, but it is always wise to be prepared........
