In 2002 a competion was held for the most beautiful village, Bremm won it and has the right to call itself the most beautiful village in Rheinland-Pfalz. It is located along a sharp corner in the river Mosel. With the steepest wine mountain in its back. It is a beautiful picture indeed.
Bremm is an old village with some old houses still there. The oldest house is built in the 15th century. The church has parts from the 13th century, but the largest part dates also back to the 15th century.
When we visited there was a service going on and we couldn't go inside to have a look. There are lots of pictures of the inside on the website of the tourist information though. A picture of the church can be found in our tips. More pictures of nice houses in the travelogues.
And except of old houses, many in brick nogging style, Bremm is all about wine. The entire hillside is covered with vineyards. And almost everybody in the village has something to do with wine. In the summer months many winemakers have a tasting in their cellar or in their garden. They are allowed to sell their own wine, snacks and other non alcoholic beverages. This kind of enterprise is called Strausswirtshaft. You will see the entire village full with signs to them. But in the odd change you couldn't find one you can also look for the broomstick outside.

Mooie streek he, met al die kleine stadjes aan het water. En jullie hadden natuurlijk ook prachtig weer.
