Small Place With Big Wonders!

Arévalo is one of the six districts of Iloílo City, only 6 kms. southwest of the City Proper. It is famous for being the home of the 3rd oldest original image of the Sto. Nino in the country which is enshrined in the Arevalo Church. It is also known as "The Flower Capital of Iloilo", being a top producer of a wide array of flowers. Likewise, it is noted for its firecrackers industry. Moreover, Arevalo is also popular for the Paraw Festival usually held at Villa Beach. Along the coast, there are several resorts, open air seafood and "ihaw-ihaw" restaurants and night spots/bars.

Arevalo was established in 1851 by Gobernador Ronquillo De Peñalosa who built his home along the coastal settlement in the 16th century. He named the place " La Villa Rica De Arevalo” after his home town, making it one of the first places in the Philippines to be given a Spanish name.
