"Island Paradise of Boracay" Boracay Island by cyndymc

Having been to Boracay before, I told myself that when I return, I'll do what I want to do most: DARE to go undersea with the fishes! And so I did ;-)
Instead of scuba diving, I went for a reef walk, also known as helmet dive. It was soooo exciting, walking in the coral reef, seeing through the clear blue water and playing with the colorful fishes around me. The little girl in me was unleashed, I would have wanted to stay longer under the sea.
Boracay is acclaimed as one of the best beaches in the world. Although it has become somewhat "commercialized" now, many local and foreign tourists still go to this island paradise where there seem to be endless activities one can do.
The salt water of the sea, the cool breeze at the beach, the azure skies and sunburst during sunrise/sunset, the adrenaline rush during sailing and water sports or island-hopping carefree spirit in the islands... all these will surely give one's tired body and spirit the needed recharge and unexplainable bliss.
We went to Boracay for the first time many years ago and many pounds less:) My youngest daughter went back with peers for the holiday, and my eldest daughter and I had the chance to go together last year. It was only recently when the family went to Boracay for a 5-day vacation. I had mixed feelings: a little sad about the commercialization of the place and a little disgusted with too much algae on the beach, but on a different breath... I was ecstatic at the many faces of Boracay sunset and excited at the many aqua sports I was beginning to appreciate. Boracay is definitely one island paradise, and I hope it stays beautiful.

a reef walk thats something new thnks!
Well written tips and great shots of this beautiful island! Really love the main photo!!! and look forward to experiencing reef walk myself - if I find enough courage to do it :) Paraw sunset sailing and body massage sounds wonderful, and I'm considering staying at Sweet Breeze Cottages too. Thanks for your excellent tour, Cindy! :)
hi ate cyndy...loved your main photo here ur reef work....also you looked like ur in your late 20's.........:)...
Awesome main picture... I had planned for this activity but weather turned stormy that day
I'll be going 2 days b4 new years this year, My friend worry's that we wont be able to get a seat. Are there many bangka's travelling on a normal day? or should I worry too?
Beautiful shots!
A helmet walk! Never heard of that before.
Hi, it might be helpful to other tourists fro you to mention that they overcharged you for that paraw sailing trip. It should be around P500 per hour for a group of up to 6 pax, not P1000 for 25 minutes! sorry you got stung!
Thanks for the blog. It is very helpful indeed in planning our trip to bora this May.
