Murcia is said to be the place where the North and South converge, and where East meets West. This small agricultural town is currently being developed into an economic zone with industrial parks like in Metro Manila, Cavite, Laguna, and Subic areas. It is also being developed as an alternative place for residential development in Negros Province, much like Tagaytay City. Located at the foot of Mount Kanlaon, it has a cool climate even during summer so it is regarded as the summer capital of Negros Occidental. Murcia is also blessed by nature with abundant waterfalls, hot springs that cure different skin diseases, clean and beautiful creeks and virgin forest with trail to Mt. Kanlaon's crater.

Hubby and I were brought by my cousin to Mambukal Resort, the place that put Murcia on the tourism map in the 1970s, when it became popular with local and foreign tourists.
